A Chilean man mistakenly received 337 monthly salaries, disappeared, and remotely quitted

A resident of Chile mistakenly received 337 monthly salaries, after which he decided to disappear without returning the money.

What we know

The company paid its employee 337 times more than it should have. The man himself reported the mistake and several times promised to return the money.

The next morning, the employer did not get through to his employee, but he himself called back and said that he would go to the bank in the near future. After that, the Chilean disappeared. He later submitted his resignation remotely. The company plans to go to court and accuse the employee of misappropriation of money.

Note that a man's salary is 500,000 Chilean pesos ($540) per month. By mistake, he was paid 165.4 million pesos ($182,000).
