Joby Aviation has finally handed over the first air taxi to the US Air Force. The electric aircraft with vertical take-off and landing is being prepared for a series of tests.

The US Air Force has received the air taxi as part of the AFWERX Agility Prime programme. The service will test the suitability of the aircraft for special operations. NASA specialists will be involved in the tests.
The vehicle was delivered to the US Air Force Base Edwards, California. Here is located NASA flight research centre. By the way, AFWERX Agility Prime is a joint programme of the US Air Force and the space agency.
Flight tests of the Joby Aviation air taxi are scheduled for 2024. The military service will assess the effectiveness of the aircraft during special operations. Until then, it will remain in a hangar.
