275.74 km/h - Rimac Nevera electric car sets world rear-wheel drive speed record

Everyone knows that an electric motor makes no difference in which direction the car will rotate and where it will go. This was demonstrated by the Rimac Nevera sports car, which was able to set a speed record when driving backwards.

Here's What We Know

The world record was set in the spring of this year on the ATP track in Germany. During the race, a representative of the Guinness Book of World Records was present on the track. Rimac Nevera was driven by driver Goran Drndak.

The driver drove the car while looking in the rear view mirror. The Rimac Nevera was able to accelerate to 275.74 km/h in reverse. During the drive, the powertrain was running at 1,914 horsepower with 3,600 Nm of torque.

It should be noted that the Rimac Nevera was faster than the V12 Lamborghini Miura. The sports car set the record for the fastest speed when driven forwards in 1972.
