Xiaomi SU7: new colours and a secret release date
Xiaomi is yet to announce an official launch date for its cars, but new details about the SU7 continue to emerge on the internet. Recently, there was a leak where photos from Xiaomi's Beijing factory were published, showing three new SU7 colour variants to complement the previously unveiled palette.
Here's What We Know
These new colours include an elegant blue-grey, a vibrant orange and a stylish dark purple. Compared to the previously revealed Golf Blue, the new shades offer a greater choice of styles, satisfying both those looking for a classic and understated look and those who favour a sporty look.
Additionally, some sort of research document circulated online this week, claiming that Xiaomi's cars could launch in March, with deliveries starting in April. However, Xiaomi was quick to deny the validity of this information, including first-quarter production estimates.
According to company president Lu Weibing, the SU7 will begin deliveries in the second quarter of 2024. The car was showcased at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, marking its international debut. Xiaomi intends to utilise its existing base of 20 million premium smartphone users in China to drive initial sales.
Despite Xiaomi's reputation for affordability, the SU7 is aimed at the mid to high end of the market. Pricing details have not yet been announced, but it is speculated that it could range from 250,000 to 370,000 yuan ($35,176 to $52,061). Production is set to ramp up to 2,000 units in March, with plans to exceed 10,000 units per month by July.
The official release date still remains a mystery. These leaks give a glimpse of potential colour options for the upcoming Xiaomi SU7.
