A photo has been published of the towing of the $45 million missile ship Samum, which was hit by the Ukrainian experimental drone Sea Baby
The day before, it became known that a Ukrainian maritime drone had hit the small missile ship Samum. A day later a photo of the Russian military vessel appeared.
Here's What We Know
The Security Service of Ukraine said that Sea Baby attacked the rear right side of the ship worth $45 million. After the strike, the "Samum" lost its motion, which may speak of damage to the propulsion system. It is possible that the ship was permanently disabled.
The Russians managed to tow the Samum for repairs. According to the photo that appeared, two boats were used for this purpose. "Samum" has a stern trim. This is one of the features of Project 1239 ships, but from the photo it seems that the rear part went underwater more than it should be.
The strike on the Russian ship was carried out by the Ukrainian Sea Baby maritime drone. The Security Service of Ukraine noted that the operation involved an experimental version of the drone created to operate in a storm.
