Insider: OnePlus has postponed the unveiling of its foldable Open smartphone

In mid-July, the internet reported that OnePlus was going to unveil its first foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open, on 29 August. Now an insider has revealed that the release of the novelty has been postponed.

Here's What We Know

According to @MaxJmb, the presentation of the smartphone will take place a little later (most likely in early September). This is due to the fact that OnePlus decided to change the supplier of screens. Initially, the manufacturer was going to install BOE panels in the gadget, but now it will be Samsung screens.

Flashback

According to rumours and leaks, the OnePlus Open will feature two displays: a 7.8-inch main display with 2K resolution, and an additional 6.3-inch display. Both panels will have an AMOLED matrix with a 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus Open should be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The gadget will be powered by a 4,800mAh battery. It will get support for 67W charging. Cameras in the novelty will be four: triple main 48 MP + 48 MP + 64 MP and single frontal 32 MP. The smartphone will come to the market with OxygenOS Fold interface based on Android 13.
