Feudal Japan, two unusual characters, high destructibility of objects and a lot of stealth are the main features of Assassin's Creed Red

Authoritative journalist and insider Tom Henderson collected and structured all available information about the next part (after Mirage) of Assassin's Creed with the working title Red, and shared the information on the Insider Gaming website.

Here's What We Know

As previously reported, the game will feature two protagonists in the setting of feudal Japan: an African samurai and a shinobi girl.

Although not yet confirmed, it is believed that the African Samurai is a real historical character. Yasuke is the first samurai of African descent. According to open sources, Yasuke was born in Mozambique and ended up in the Land of the Rising Sun in 1579 as a servant of an Italian Jesuit missionary.

According to Henderson, the two characters have different personalities, worldviews and principles, as well as a unique set of weapons and items, so gameplay for them will be different.

Henderson's sources say that Assassin's Creed Red will feature many more stealth action elements than most parts of the franchise. Heroes will be able to hide in the shadows, sneak up on enemies, extinguish torches and other light sources, hide the bodies of slain enemies and hide in tall grass.

Another unique feature of Assassin's Creed Red will be a high degree of destructibility of game objects. For example, doors can be chopped, windows can be knocked out. In short, everything that a warrior could destroy in real life can be destroyed in the game (within reasonable limits).

When We Can Expect It

Tom Henderson has information that Assassin's Creed Red is already in an almost finished state, so he believes that the game release can be expected in the second half of 2024, and the first information from the developers will appear early next year. At the same time, he noted that Ubisoft often postpones the releases of its games lately, so he is not quite sure about the dates he mentioned.

Assassin's Creed Red will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
