Rumour: Square Enix has no plans to release a remake of Final Fantasy 7 for Switch 2 or Xbox Series

Despite the fact that Final Fantasy VII Remake was released back in 2020, it seems that Square Enix currently has no plans to release the project on Xbox or the next Nintendo Switch.

Here's What We Know

This information was shared by a well-known insider NateTheHate on the Famiboards forum. According to him, Square Enix is not currently considering a plan to release this game for consoles other than PlayStation.

Square Enix recently announced that it would be launching more of its games on the Xbox console, and since then, it has already confirmed the release of Octopath Traveler 2 for the Microsoft platform in 2024. Whether Final Fantasy 7 Remake will join the list is currently unknown, but the studio will make a decision on this over the next few months.
