The next instalments of Assassin's Creed could take players to the distant future: insider information and dataminer findings intrigue fans of the franchise
In most parts of the Assassin's Creed franchise, events in certain historical periods are interspersed with events of the present day. This concept is paid less and less attention with each new part, but maybe in Assassin's Creed Red Ubisoft will try to surprise gamers with an unexpected move.
Here's What We Know
Insider Tom Henderson shared interesting information from his sources: in the next part of the series, the French developer may offer, in addition to the story in the setting of Feudal Japan, episodes that will take place in the future! We are talking about the end of the XXI century - 2090-2099 years.
Data miners found similar hints in the Assassin's Creed Mirage files: in some unused lines, characters talk about the 21st century as a deep antiquity and mention a certain catastrophe. The files refer to another game, Assassin's Creed Hexe, which, like Red, is supposed to be part of the ambitious and not yet fully understood Assassin's Creed Infinity platformer.
It's likely that the future story will start in Assassin's Creed Red and continue in Hexe, but we can't say that for sure just yet. Either way, Assassin's Creed fans have a lot to look forward to.
