Insider: Square Enix may release Final Fantasy VII Remake on Xbox
Square Enix is a strategic partner of Sony, so many of its projects are not available on Xbox. However, in 2023, the CEO of the Japanese publisher Takashi Kiryu explicitly said that he wants to establish a closer cooperation with Microsoft and release more of its games on American consoles.
The first such release should be Final Fantasy XIV, which is still only available on PlayStation and PC, but will be available on the Xbox Series in spring 2024.
It turns out that another game in the series may soon be available to Xbox users.
Here's What We Know
On The Xbox Two podcast, well-known journalist and insider Jez Corden revealed that Square Enix is in active talks with Microsoft about releasing a remake of Final Fantasy VII on Xbox.
Information about Microsoft's desire to release this game on its consoles has been circulating for a long time, so Corden's words look absolutely realistic.
Recall, Final Fantasy VII Remake was released in 2020 as a PlayStation exclusive, but was later ported to PC.
