A return to the roots, modern warfare and an exciting story: an insider has revealed the first details of the new Battlefield game series
Authoritative insider Tom Henderson again shared interesting news about Electronic Arts plans.
This time he told about the new part of the series of shooters Battlefield.
Here's What We Know
According to Henderson, the release of the next iteration of Battlefield is scheduled for October 2025, but this date is quite approximate and can change.
The theme of the new shooter will be modern warfare, the events will unfold between 2025 and 2030.
Henderson mentioned that the developers will make a big emphasis on modern means of defeat and new tools of war. Probably, they mean drones and other advanced technologies, which will be closely woven into the plot of the Battlefield sequel.
As for the online elements, in the new game they will "return to the roots": there will be again a mode for 64 players and a system of four classes of soldiers, and the system of destruction, as previously reported, will be significantly improved.
By the way, the insider is sure that unlike Battlefield 2042, where there was no story campaign, and some other parts, where it turned out to be very mediocre, in the new part of the shooter the story will be really exciting and diverse.
Tom Henderson announced that Ripple Effect studio will release a free Battle Royale in the Battlefield universe alongside the aforementioned paid game - it will be a project with the same concept as Call of Duty: Warzone. It will offer players only online matches and implies at least two modes: classic Battle Royale and a mode called Gauntlet, in which two teams compete against each other, performing different tasks and getting points for them.
