Tactical shooter with a dark plot: insider reveals first details of the new Ghost Recon instalment
Authoritative insider Tom Henderson again shared exclusive information about the new Ubisoft game, and this time in the centre of attention was the project with the working title Project Over - a sequel to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon series.
Here's What We Know
According to Henderson's information, Ghost Recon sequel will bring the series back to its roots and bring it closer to the genre of unhurried tactical shooters.
For the first time in many years in Ghost Recon will be a first-person view, and gameplay will become more complex and demanding to plan actions.
The events of Project Over will unfold in the fictional state of Naiman in Southeast Asia, which is under the control of war criminals.
The style and tone of the narrative will be much darker, as the developers are oriented on the early parts of Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The game will add a lot of tense and poignant moments and as an example, Henderson mentioned a mission in which an operative almost shot a man with a child in his arms, because he thought that the man in the hands of a bomb.
The insider has seen gameplay footage that showed that the game is far superior to past instalments in terms of graphics. Henderson believes that the new shooter series Ghost Recon can be compared to Ready or Not.
When We Can Expect It
Project Over was supposed to be released in 2023, but according to Tom Henderson's information the game will be released in 2025 at the earliest.
Flashback
The last instalment of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon with the subtitle Breakpoint was released in 2019 and didn't generate much public interest. Perhaps a change of genre and style will help Ubisoft regain interest in the iconic series.
