All games and add-ons of the post-apocalyptic Metro series received big discounts in the Epic Games Store until September 28

The post-apocalypse genre is one of the most popular in the gaming industry. Some developers create such games with zombies, others describe a world where there is a complete drought, but the Ukrainian studio 4A Games has created the Metro trilogy based on the novel of the same name, which shows Russia destroyed by nuclear war. Until September 28, the Epic Games Store offers a discount on all games and add-ons of this series.

Details

The promotion is valid for three games: Metro 2033 Redux, Metro Last Light Redux, and Metro Exodus. Each of these games can only be purchased separately, which will be interesting for those who have played only one or two games in the series.

Metro 2033 Redux is the first part of the series. This and other games are created in the first-person action-adventure genre. The story tells about a young man named Artem, who escaped from nuclear explosions in the Moscow metro. One day, his station is terrorised by mysterious black creatures, and the protagonist has no choice but to embark on a long and deep journey to save his station and the entire metro. Players can complete missions on the surface, in subway tunnels, and at stations, and there are two ways to complete the game: using various weapons from pistols to assault rifles or sneaking around to remain unnoticed. The Redux version offers improved graphics and some changes in the gameplay. Metro 2033 Redux received 90 points on Metacritic and costs $3.

Metro Last Light Redux is the second part of the series. We are playing as Artem again, still in Moscow, but now the protagonist has to correct the mistakes he made in the first part. Open and corridor locations, a variety of weapons, and an intense story await us again, but the second part takes the best of 2033 and multiplies it. So the sequel is no worse, and sometimes even better. In addition to the changes in 2033 Redux, there are several short additions that reveal more about the plot. Metro Last Light Redux received 76 points on Metacritic and costs $3.

Metro Exodus is the third part of the series. We are still playing as Artem, but now we will be travelling through the destroyed Russia. Most of the events are now in a semi-open world, the arsenal has improved, the graphics have become more realistic, the story timing has increased, and the atmosphere is perhaps the strongest aspect of the third part. The game also has two interesting storyline add-ons that can be purchased separately (The Two Colonels add-on at this link, and Sam's Story at this one) or you can buy Metro Exodus - Gold Edition for $8, where they will be immediately available. The standard edition of Metro Exodus received 82 points on Metacritic and costs $6.
