Rumours: the number of copies of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope sold exceeds 3 million
Not so long ago, Ubisfot released Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, which, despite positive reviews from critics, did not meet the company's expectations, as CEO Yves Guillemot said. It is noted that the game might have seemed "more attractive" if it had been released on the successor to the current Switch version, as Nintendo itself hinted at. However, fortunately for fans and game developers, sales are gradually increasing.
Here's What We Know
According to a report published by VGC, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has already sold almost three million copies, which is roughly in line with the previous game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle at a similar stage of its existence, although it is worth noting that the game later gained almost 10 million copies sold.
According to VGC's sources, discounts on the eShop partially contributed to the game's further sales. It is also worth noting that the game received three expansions after its release: The Tower of Doooom, The Last Spark Hunter, and Rayman in Phantom Show, although the impact of these add-ons on sales remains unknown.
The producer of the series, Cristina Nava, expressed confidence in August last year that the game would be a "slow burn" and noted that sales are expected to grow over the next few years.
