According to a GDC survey, some developers are already working on projects for the next Nintendo Switch
According to numerous leaks, Nintendo Switch 2 is due to be presented in the second half of 2024, and considering the fact that the original Switch will soon turn 8 years old, it's hard not to believe it. Of course, if there is not much time left before the Switch's successor is launched, it is logical to assume that at least some developers have already received development kits to create games for the new platform - and, judging by the GDC survey, this is the case.
Here's What We Know
According to the VGC resource, about 3,000 developers from different parts of the industry took part in the GDC State of the Game Industry 2024 survey and when asked what platform they are currently developing their project for, 8% said that it was Nintendo Switch 2 (or whatever the name of this console will be).
Of course, the developers have signed a non-disclosure agreement, as the console has not yet been officially unveiled, so they cannot talk about it. In addition, when asked which console they are most interested in, 32% of developers indicated the next Switch after the PC (62%) and PS5 (41%).
