Insider: Nintendo's new console could be unveiled in the first half of March
The active discussion of the next-generation console from Nintendo continues.
Since the Japanese manufacturer does not give absolutely no information about Nintendo Switch 2 (the name is conditional) and does not even confirm the fact of work on the device, insiders and analysts share their information and assumptions about the release date and technical nuances of the new portable gadget.
Here's What We Know
In the latest edition of their podcast, insider Nate the Hate and Digital Foudnry team expert John Linneman shared some information about Switch 2.
Nate the Hate believes that the official announcement of Nintendo's next console will take place in mid-March, with the insider separately stressing that it will take place before the Game Developers Conference, which will take place from 18-22 March.
As for the technical specifications, Nate the Hate and Linneman are confident that Nintendo will equip its console with 16GB of RAM, which will allow the Switch 2 to release high-end games for current generation platforms.
Additionally, the experts believe that users of the new handheld console will be able to run all or most Switch games via backwards compatibility.
The podcast also paid attention to the next Nintendo Direct, which is rumoured to take place on February 15. According to Nate the Hate, the show will feature third-party games, while Nintendo will save its own projects for a March presentation to unveil at the same time as the new console.
