Fans have fixed an ancient sound bug in Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition - an amateur project in which enthusiasts improve classic horror, eliminating serious mistakes. Recently for Enhanced Edition an update was released which, among other things, solved the sound problem.
In the original version of Silent Hill 2 due to the specifications of the audio streaming technology, there were problems on multi-core PCs. During the game, the sound began to "stutter", and then the dropout occurred. The error could be fixed only by disabling all but one of the cores in the BIOS.
Creators of Enhanced Edition rewrote the engine for streaming sound, so that now horror should work stably on modern computers. The authors not only uprooted the ominous bug with departure, but also walked through others roughness in the area of audio.
Fresh update of Enhanced Edition also includes graphical tweaks and other fixes. Instructions for installing a fan project see here.
