A murderous hotel in the trailer for The Devil in Me - a new part of The Dark Pictures Anthology
Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games presented a fresh trailer for The Devil in Me, the next part of the interactive horror series of The Dark Pictures Anthology. It should be the final chapter of the first season.
At the Center of The Devil in Me story is a team of documentarians who are invited to a modern replica of serial killer H.G. Holmes' Castle of Murder. The invitation is suspicious, but the chance is too tempting - the team is in desperate need of public interest. Arriving at the hotel, the documentarians understand that the stakes are not movie ratings, but their lives.
According to the authors, The Devil in Me will feature a number of new mechanics — a character inventory, tool puzzles, and an expanded movement system, including running, jumping, and climbing. Familiar features are preserved: it is still an interactive movie that can be played together with friends - either two over the Internet, or five on one screen.
The Devil in Me will be released this fall on PC (Steam), PlayStation and Xbox. Pre-ordering gives you early access to The Curator's Cut, a special mode with alternate scenes. In three months, this mode will be available to all players. A translation into Russian with dubbing has been announced.
It seems that Supermassive has already started working on the second season of The Dark Pictures: the studio has registered trademarks for five more episodes.
