The Last of Us series will be released in early 2023

At the beginning of the year, the content director of HBO and HBO Max Casey Bloys mentioned that the TV show based on The Last of Us will arrive no earlier than 2023. Now the release window has narrowed to early next year.

Bloys said about it in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter - according to him, the premiere will take place "closer to the beginning of 2023".

We will remind, in the adaptation of "The Last of Us" the following were filmed:

• Joel - Pedro Pascal ("Game of Thrones", "The Mandalorian").
• Ellie - Bella Ramsay (Bella Ramsey; Game of Thrones).
• Tommy, Joel's brother, - Gabriel Luna ("Terminator: Dark Fates", the second season of "True Detective" and several episodes of "Agents of SHIELD").
• Sarah, daughter of Joel, - Nico Parker (the movie "Dumbo").
• Marlin, the leader of the "Cicadas", - Merle Dandridge (the same character in the games).
• Tess, Joel's partner, - Anna Torv (TV shows "Mindhunter", "The Edge" and "The Pacific").
• Riley, Ellie's friend, - Storm Reed (the TV show "Euphoria" and the movie "Breaking Time").

We will remind that the release of the remake of the first The Last of Us is scheduled for September 2. In the new version, the graphics are noticeably improved, but you should not expect drastic changes - the developers did not make changes to the script and reshoot the story scenes. The remake will first visit PlayStation 5, and then PC.
