During a call with investors, Ubisfot said it is ending development on Splinter Cell VR, Ghost Recon Frontline and two unannounced games.
The reason for the cancellation is "change in financial situation". What was specifically meant - the publishing house did not specify.
We will recall the details of the closed projects:
- Splinter Cell VR was announced exclusively for Oculus in September 2020 along with Assassin's Creed VR (it has not been canceled). Both games were developed by Red Storm with support from other Ubisoft studios. No other details have been received since then.
- The free-to-play battle royale Ghost Recon Frontline was released by Ubisoft Bucharest in October 2021. Players met the announcement negatively, so the company first postponed testing, and then restarted production.
As part of the same financial report, Ubisoft postponed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and an unannounced premium game.
