Insider: A Polynesian spin-off is in the works for Immortals Fenyx Rising
Immortals Fenyx Rising was released in 2020, received several additions and disappeared from the radar. If we believe the journalist Jeff Grubb, Ubisoft still did not stop to develop the project - a spin-off about the myths of the Hawaiian Islands is in development.
An insider shared information from what he believed to be a source on the podcast for Games Mess Decides. Grubb was told that Ubisoft Quebec, which is responsible for Immortals Fenyx Rising, is working on "not quite a sequel, but something of a spin-off." The working name of the project is Oxygen.
"This time, the game will be dedicated to the Hawaiian Polynesian culture. There is still the God-narrator. [The developers] are trying to keep the visual style, but now the connection to Breath of the Wild is not felt as strongly." - Jeff Grubb
The spin-off is in the early stages of production. According to Grubb, the game could be released in 2025.
