Twitch begins testing the new "Elevated Chat" paid feature

Twitch will begin testing a new paid way to send messages on the platform.

Here's What We Know

The new feature is called "Elevated Chat" and will allow users to boost their messages for a certain amount of time for a one-time fee. The time gradation starts at 30 seconds to 2.5 minutes and will cost between $5 and $100. The feature is currently available on a limited number of channels on the platform.

The option will appear at the top of the screen or at the bottom of the video if a user wants to use the feature, to which a list of possible time gradations will drop down. If more than one person wants to upgrade at the same time, the message of the one who first purchased the upgrade will be displayed.
