Sony will release up to 2 million PlayStation VR2s by March, and the UK store has already opened a pre-order for the next-generation headset

The UK online retailer Offer Games has opened a pre-order for the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality helmet!

The date of arrival on sale is March 10, 2023. The cost of the device will be £600.

There is no official information on the launch of the PlayStation VR2 from Sony yet, as well as the cost of the headset.

Since the shortage of PlayStation 5 consoles is still not fully resolved, many gamers worried about whether enough VR devices will be produced to fully cover the demand for them.

Bloomberg cited its sources as saying that Sony will produce 2 million devices by March 2023. It is noted that factories do not lack components, so all plans of the Japanese corporation will be implemented in time.

Flashback

The PlayStation VR2 features a 4,000 x 2040 pixel display with HDR support, eye tracking, foveal rendering technology, built-in tracking cameras and a vibration mechanism right in the helmet. It comes with improved controllers with haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and finger-touch recognition.

Recall that Sony recently said that the new headset PlayStation VR2 will not be compatible with games designed for the last generation of PS VR, but developers can release special versions of their projects for modern devices.
