It was fine until the update came out: the fresh patch for the PC version of Resident Evil Village "broke" the game. Gamers can't launch the horror game
The developers of Resident Evil Village released an update for the PC version of the game, which broke its functionality.
Now many players have problems when starting the game, up to the inability to activate it: a data incompatibility notice appears on the screen, followed by the recommendation to restart, which does not improve the situation.
Capcom acknowledged the problem, apologized to the players and announced that they are already working on fixing this bug.

We're aware of an ongoing issue with the latest patch that's causing the game to crash for some users. We're currently looking into a fix, and apologize for any inconvenience caused!
The developers didn't say when they will fix it and gamers have to wait patiently or try to fix it themselves with one of Steam users advices.
