The Japanese developers have announced a free Colosseum Update DLC, which will introduce full-fledged PvP-modes in the game.

Tomorrow - December 7 - gamers will have the opportunity to fight each other in three Colosseums. Combat will take place in different formats: duels, mass brawls and team confrontations.

This DLC will be released on the eve of the great show The Game Awards, so it is likely that at the TGA FromSoftware will announce a major story addition for Elden Ring.
