A new remake from Capcom? Publishers have re-registered the Resident Evil Director's Cut trademark
Perhaps the fans of the Resident Evil franchise can look forward in the near future, not only to a remake of the fourth part, but also to another updated version of the game.
Here's What We Know
The Japanese company has registered the trademark Resident Evil Director's Cut, which may hint at a new remake and, most likely, will update the first part.
A game with the same name has been released before, and it was a slightly improved version of the first Resident Evil installment. It's likely that after the over-the-top updates to the second and third parts of the game, Capcom will go beyond the remake of the fourth part, which is currently in the final stages of development, and release a modern version of the very first part of RE.
That said, the possibility remains that Capcom is planning a re-release of the perfect other part of the series.
