Kid Laroi's new music concert in Fortnite is... different
The concert of the Australian singer The Kid Laroi started in Fortnite and it should be noted that it differs from previous concerts. It focused more on the shooter component, which is the basis of the game.
Here's What We Know
"Wild Dreams" is described as "an immersive sonic experience that charts Laroy's journey from humble beginnings to sold-out performances as a global headliner". Unlike concerts by, for example, Travis Scott or Ariana Grande, Laroy's concert takes place in a specially created world in the Fortnite editor, which makes it similar to Easy Life in 2021.
It all starts with players entering a seemingly empty city, with the word "Fortnite" on a hill that looks like the Holywood sign in Los Angeles. Then a supply crate drops out, containing a box with a singing Lara who is trapped in it. a trap that looks a bit like that Drake meme. Players can run around, collect musical notes for experience points, and just do what they want, whether it's emoting or nothing at all.
This is where things get weird in terms of how things are usually done in Fortnite. First, a video of Laroy dressed up like a character from a 90s hacker film invites you to his house where you can smash the furniture. Then you will be transported to a cyberpunk city where you have to escape from some kind of fiery demon creature, and later you are thrown into an arena to fight it by shooting beams of electricity. It's unclear whether you can definitely lose this battle or how many skills play a role in it, but teaming up with a bunch of other players to defeat it makes it feel similar to one of Fortnite's raids, albeit in a simpler version.
All in all, it's best that you try it out for yourself and form your own opinion on the mode, as there are rumours that there will be many more events like this in the future
