343 Industreis will continue to develop Halo and use the Unreal Engine in future projects
Halo game developer 343 Industries has lost at least 95 people due to Microsoft's massive layoffs and it has been reported that the studio is switching from its own Slipspace engine to Epic Games' Unreal Engine, Bloomberg reports.
Here's What We Know
The future of Halo and 343 Indistries hangs in the balance amid massive layoffs at the companies on 18 January. The latest game in the Halo series, Ifinite, started off "more or less" normally, but over time, users began to get annoyed with the progress of the multiplayer game and delays in planned features like the Forge network.
Pierre Hintze, the head of 343 Industries, tweeted on 21 January that "343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer and everything else that makes the game great". For his part, Matt Booty, who heads Xbox Games Studios, confirmed this, saying that 343 Industries will continue to develop Halo and "be the home of the game."

It's not entirely clear what the studio's role will be in future projects, so we'll be waiting for more information from the developers or Microsoft executives on this.
