Microsoft and Nintendo have signed a 10-year contract that implies Xbox games released on Japanese consoles. A clear focus on Call of Duty
Of course, this deal is not signed by accident, but with a long-range aim for Call of Duty. If Microsoft manages to seal the deal with Activision Blizzard, Activision's popular shooters will be released on Nintendo consoles.
Brad Smith stressed that Microsoft is committed to making its games available to as many people as possible, regardless of platform.
We've now signed a binding 10-year contract to bring Xbox games to Nintendo's gamers. This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms. pic.twitter.com/JmO0hzw1BO

But an important technical question arises: how will Nintendo's far from most powerful hardware run such demanding games?
Cloud services? - It looks like the only option for now, but it has a number of significant drawbacks.
The hypothetical next Nintendo Switch? - It's unlikely to match today's Xbox gaming platforms either.
Either way, an agreement has been signed, and how the corporations will resolve the technical difficulties, time will tell.
