Pet simulator Peridot from Pokémon Go developer to be released on 9 May

Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, will soon release its new project - Peridot, a virtual pet game. It was announced earlier this year and will be released on 9 May on Adnroid and iOS worldwide.

According to The Verge, Peridot is a mix of Pokémon Go's augmented reality aspects and a Tamagotchi-style pet simulator.

"Our team has been hard at work making Peridots real. They are immersive, amazing magical creatures that eat, sleep, play with toys, explore their environment, get bored, develop unique personalities, and are always in need of a loving adopter like you, - said David Hollin, Peridot ’s creative director."

Peridot will be Niantic's first unlicensed game since its breakout hit Ingress.
