God of War: Ragnarok and Vampire Survivors triumph at the BAFTA Games Awards 2023

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards ceremony took place.

Video games have long been relegated to contemporary art, so the BAFTA experts award the prize to the best projects of the year in various categories.

This time the British experts decided that the indie project Vampire Survivors is the Game of the Year - a clear success for the lone developer Luca Galante!

Most of the Games Awards 2023 went to God of War: Ragnarok, with Santa Monica Studio's game winning in six categories. But its main competitor in last year's nominations, Elden Ring, won just two awards.

A special award for lifetime achievement went to Japanese engineer Shuhei Yoshida, who has made a huge contribution to the gaming industry, was one of the creators of the first PlayStation and now supports independent developers.
