American McGee - the developer of Alice: Asylum, has announced that it is discontinuing work on the new installment of the series and that he is leaving the game industry
There will be no third installment of the psychedelic action American McGee's Alice.
Here's What We Know
The famous game designer American McGee for a long time tried to launch full-fledged development of Alice: Asylum, and even submitted a detailed game description to Electronic Arts, but the American company refused to provide the financing.
The developer also failed to release the game on his own, so he made an important decision and announced that he was stopping work on Alice: Asylum and quitting the game business completely.

After several weeks of review, EA has come back with a response regarding funding and/or licensing for "Alice: Asylum" - Alice had a good run but the dream is over. https://t.co/hyprIq9MpE#gamedev #aliceasylum pic.twitter.com/sIE3bKbaVY
American McGee will leave all the game's work in the public domain in the hope that one day enthusiasts will continue his work.
It is noteworthy that Electronic Arts not only denied the gamemaker funding for the game, but also did not want to give him the rights to the franchise, which leads us to believe that EA may return to the series, but it will obviously be a completely different project.
The game designer would like to thank the Alice : Asylum team and the people who supported them on Patreon and other platforms.
