CD Projekt RED developers have added cutting-edge ray tracing technology to the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 with Overdrive Mode
CD Projekt RED has released update 1.62 for the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077.
Here's What We Know
The patch contains no game updates, and provides only technical improvements, the main of which will be Overdrive Mode - an ultramodern ray tracing mode, which impressed even experts Digital Foundry.
Overdrive Mode significantly improves image quality, especially the lighting of locations and shadows. It's only available to PC users with graphics cards no older than GeForce RTX 3090, but the developers recommend using 40-series GPUs. Users with weaker graphics cards will only be able to try out Overdrive Mode in photo mode.
Game designers from CD Projekt RED stressed that the current version of Overdrive Mode is not ideal and will be improved in the future.
In addition to Overdrive Mode, the game has improved DLAA anti-aliasing and advanced Intel XeSS scaling technology.
Patch 1.62 for Cyberpunk 2077 is being rolled out on PC. This update brings the technology preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode.
