Electronic Arts claims that The Sims 4 now has over 70 million players

Electronic Arts has announced that the number of players in The Sims 4 has grown to more than 70 million worldwide, making it the most popular game in the franchise.

In recent months, the game has attracted more than 16 million new users since it became free-to-play in October 2022, and the average number of players per week has increased by 53 per cent.

According to the company, the recent Growing Together expansion pack, which was released in March, had the highest weekly sales of any pack ever.

"It’s incredible to see how much our community has grown over the past eight years, and our players continue to inspire us with the countless ways they explore life in The Sims 4,- said Phillip Ring, executive producer of The Sims 4."

The Sims 4 was released in September 2014 and is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, MacOS and PC.
