Angry Birds creators to produce mobile games based on Persona, Total War, Like A Dragon and other popular Sega franchises

In April, publisher Sega and studio Rovio announced a merger. The companies said they had big plans to collaborate and have now revealed their strategy.

Here's What We Know

On May 2, a press conference was held with Rovio CEO Alexandre Pelletier-Normand and Sega's head of gaming, Shuji Utsumi. They revealed that one of the main goals of the Rovio acquisition was to strengthen Sega in the mobile games market.

The mutual interest of this merger is as follows: Finnish developers will work on mobile versions of such Sega franchises as Persona, Total War and Like A Dragon (Yakuza), in turn, the Japanese company will contribute to the release of Angry Birds games on PC and consoles.

At the moment, all legal procedures are ongoing, which will last until the end of 2023. The deal is worth €706 million.
