You don't need to play Final Fantasy VII Remake to fully enjoy FF VII Rebirth, - Square Enix

For those new to the Final Fantasy series, there is good news - Square Enix has announced that you don't need to have played Final Fantasy 7 Remake to enjoy its sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth:

"We have made preparations so that players who did not get a chance to play the first game can fully enjoy Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth" - co-director Motomu Toriyama said in an update published on Monday. Toriyama's comment is the latest in a series of daily updates on the game that Square Enix began last week.

In June 2022, the second episode of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy was announced. At that time, Kitase, who also directed the original 1997 game, said that Rebirth would be released "next winter", which means in late 2023 or early 2024.
