Overwatch 2 will feature new story missions and a new hero
Overwatch 2: Invasion was announced, and its trailer was shown during the Xbox Game Showcase:
Here's What We Know
Last month, game director Aaron Keller announced the cancellation of the long-awaited Overwatch 2 story mode due to the ambitious and unfeasible nature of its development. However, Keller noted that story missions will still be present, allowing players to see what happens to their favourite Overwatch characters. And now we have official confirmation.
Story missions are not new to Overwatch. The game first introduced them back in 2017, and it was a prequel of sorts that revealed the events that led to the dissolution of the Overwatch organisation. The subsequent events, Storm Rising and Retribution, also told important moments in the history of characters such as Cassidy, Tracer, and Jack Morrison (now known as Soldier: 76).
When We Can Expect It
New storyline games in Overwatch 2 will be available on August 10.
