A new take on the iconic franchise: Ubisoft's Star Wars: Outlaws action gameplay trailer has premiered
One of the main Ubisoft Forward shows was the gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Outlaws.
The game is being developed by Massive Entertainment - the creator of the popular Tom Clancy's The Division shooter.
Here's What We Know
The project looks very cinematic, atmospheric and unusual for the games of this franchise. The focus will not be on the Jedi, Rebels or Imperials, but on the criminal gangs and Syndicates of the Galaxy.
Events take place between the fifth and sixth episodes of the Star Wars film saga. The main character will be a young girl, Kay Vess, and she will be accompanied by a pet, Nix.
In the clip shown, the girl infiltrates the Pike Syndicate base to steal a valuable item for a customer. At first the young thief acts stealthily, but a firefight ensues that escalates into a chase.
The clip also features some impressive cinematic scenes, and ends with a flight in a spaceship. From the looks of it, players will be travelling in it quite a lot.
When We Can Expect It
Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled for release in 2024.
