The authors of cult shooters Painkiller and Bulletstorm from Polish studio People Can Fly have started work on a new game based on "one of Microsoft's famous franchises"

Polish studio People Can Fly - creators of the popular shooters Painkiller and Bulletstorm, as well as the high-quality but commercially failed Outriders - has announced a renewed partnership with Microsoft.

Here's What We Know

In the mid-2000s, as part of Epic Games, the company was involved in the development of the popular Gears of War franchise and self-released its prequel, subtitled Judgment.

The studio also announced today that it has signed a contract with Microsoft to produce a high-budget game based on "one of the famous franchises". Most likely, this refers to Gears of War, but so far only a working title is mentioned - Project Maverick.

The game's budget will be 30-50 million dollars.

Of course, there is no word on release date or the list of platforms.
