More expensive than expected: Microsoft has 'accidentally' revealed the cost of Sony's PlayStation Project Q handheld console
The litigation between Microsoft and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has shed light on a lot of interesting information that we wouldn't soon know.
Here's What We Know
At one of the meetings, Microsoft representatives "accidentally" revealed the cost of Sony's handheld console under the working name PlayStation Project Q.
According to the US corporation, the device will cost $300 in the US/Euro 300 in Europe. It is worth noting that earlier experts calculated that if the cost of the new console exceeds $ 200/euro - it will be a failure.
This is due to the fact that PlayStation Project Q itself can not run games, and works only in conjunction with the PlayStation 5, in addition, it requires a permanent connection to WI-Fi.
It remains to be seen how much of Microsoft's information is true, but if it is, Project Q is unlikely to be able to compete with similar devices that are appearing in the market more and more, such as the Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally or the corny Nintendo Switch. While more expensive, they offer significantly more functionality and - most importantly! - they don't require any additional devices.
