Line Next has announced a team-up with SEGA to create a blockchain game based on the giant's "extremely popular" intellectual property

The South Korean-American company Line Next has announced a merger with SEGA and a licence from it for the "extremely popular" intellectual property for its Game Dosi blockchain platform.

Here's What We Know

"Line Next is pleased to be teaming up with Sega to bring some exciting gaming to the Web3 space for gamers around the world. Line Next is pleased to be teaming up with Sega to bring some exciting gaming to the Web3 space for gamers around the world."

The announcement does not specify what kind of licence it is. SEGA allows third-party partners to create NFT games based on some of its franchises, such as Three Kingdoms and Virtua Fighter, but so far it has not allowed the use of its most popular characters, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, to avoid potentially deteriorating the status of its intellectual property.

In any case, we will soon find out which franchise we are talking about, so we will wait.
