Square Enix has announced that the total number of copies of the Dragon Quest series sold is over 88 million

Recently, Square Enix released sales data for the Dragon Quest series, where it confirmed that more than 88 million copies have been sold since the franchise was launched in 1980! This news came via an update in the press release, which reported the number of sales of Final Fantasy 16 at more than 3 million units.

In the meantime, fans of the series have a lot to look forward to, as a bunch of projects have already been announced and are being prepared for release, including Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, and Dragon Quest. Monsters: The Dark Prince, which is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch on 1 December.
