Insider: The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion remake is in development. Virtuos Games - the author of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, is working on the game update
While fans of The Elder Scrolls are waiting for the release of the sixth part of the iconic franchise (and wait, according to Phil Spencer, at least five more years) Microsoft and Bethesda can give them a surprise.
Here's What We Know
A former employee of Virtuos Games (developer of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater) on the Reddit forum made a sensational statement.
According to him, the Singapore studio is working on an updated version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The code name of the project is "Altar" (Altar).
It is reported that the team is still discussing whether to release a remaster or a full-fledged remake. Depending on the decision, the modern version of the famous game may be released in late 2024 or early 2025 and will be available on Xbox Series and PC.
According to the author, the game uses both Unreal Engine 5 and the original Oblivion engine, so the biggest changes should be expected in graphics, and gameplay elements and the physical model of the game will most likely not undergo significant changes.
According to a former employee, Virtuos Games is working on another new big-budget game that will be similar to Monster Hunter and Shadow of the Colossus.
The Reddit post was promptly deleted, but the screenshot remains.
