Publisher Take-Two has published a report for the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
Here's What We Know
- net revenue for the period rose 17% to $1.28 billion, up from $1.1 billion a year earlier;
- net losses totalled $206 million;
- GTA franchise circulation exceeded 405 million copies;
- GTA V circulation reached 185 million copies;
- GTA V has become the fastest-selling game in the US in the last 10 years. It brought $1 billion to developers faster than any other entertainment content in history;
- NBA 2K23 sold a record 13 million copies;
- Red Dead Redemption 2 sales topped 55 million copies.
Take-Two expects a "significant turning point" and "record revenue levels" in fiscal year 2025 (April 2024 to March 2025). Obviously, some big-budget and hotly anticipated game will be released during this period, and the most logical and realistic option is the release of GTA VI, especially since the report mentions that the development of this project is on schedule.
As a reminder, next week will see the release of the Red Dead Redemption port for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
