A colossal success for Larian Studios, Baldur's Gate 3 has become the highest-rated game of 2023 and is among the best projects in Metacritic's history

A week after the release of Baldur's Gate 3, we can state that the game is the highlight of 2023 (for RPG fans, that's for sure!).

Larian Studios' game was the highest rated game in 2023 on Metacritic.

Baldur's Gate 3 has surpassed even The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which received the highest reviews from critics and users.

At the moment, Baldur's Gate III has received 97 points based on 18 critics' reviews, with a user rating of 9.3 points.

All of this has allowed Larian Studios' game to enter the list of the most highly rated projects in Metacritic history. Baldur's Gate III was among such video game mastodons as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V, GTA III, and Disco Elysium: The Final Cut - all of which have a score of 97.

Baldur's Gate III is rated higher than recognised masterpieces such as Elden Ring, BioShock, Mass Effect 2, Resident Evil 4 and Half-Life 2.

Peak online on Steam has surpassed 800,000 players.

Baldur's Gate 3 will be released on PlayStation 5 on the 6th of September. Let's see what scores the console version will get and how it will affect the overall popularity of the game.
