Google Pixel 8 - nine-core Tensor G3 chip, 50MP camera with OIS, 120Hz display and Android 14 priced from $699
As panned, Google has unveiled the next generation of Pixel smartphones on 4 October 2023. The base model of the series is called Google Pixel 8.
Here's What We Know
The smartphone is equipped with a Tensor G3 mobile processor. The chip is manufactured using Samsung's 4nm technology. It has an unusual number of cores, namely nine: four Cortex-A510/A715 and one Cortex-X3 each. The RAM capacity is 8GB.
Google Pixel 8 got an OLED display with a peak brightness of 2000 nits and a frame refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Full HD+ matrix has a diagonal of 6.2" and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The screen has an inbuilt fingerprint scanner and a cutout for a 10.5MP selfie camera with 4K@60fps support.
The main camera in the Pixel 8 features two sensors. The resolution is 50 MP and 12 MP. They are installed in the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle modules, respectively. The former has an optical stabilisation system and support for 4K@60fps.
The battery capacity was 4485 mA*h. The smartphone supports wired and wireless charging with 24W and 12W respectively. Also the novelty received NFC, stereo speakers, IP68 class water protection and Android 14.
The price of Google Pixel 8 starts at $699 in the US and €799 in Europe. The novelty is available in black, grey and peach body colours. With the purchase of the smartphone, the company gives the Pixel Buds Pro headphones.
