Google is preparing a "summarise this email" feature for Gmail on Android
Google is developing a new useful feature for its popular email application, Gmail.
Here's What We Know
According to the data collected by PiunikaWeb and the AssembleDebug coder, the Gmail app on Android will have a button to "summarise this email". Although there has been no official confirmation from Google, the feature may be part of a future update.
According to reports, this feature is already available in a previous release of the Gmail app, v2024.03.31.621006929. According to the screenshots published by PiunikaWeb, the corresponding button is displayed under the email header, but it remains inactive.
This option can be especially useful for users who often receive long or informational emails. It will allow you to quickly summarise important information without having to read the entire email.
Note that Google already has an email summary feature for Gemini for Workspace users, but this new feature is likely to be available to consumers.
This feature is expected to be available on smartphones, and it could be an important step in the development of Gmail on mobile devices.
