Finally!!! Apple has allowed users to change the notification sound for the first time in the iPhone history

For many (especially Android smartphone owners) it may sound unbelievable, but since the inception of the iPhone, users haven't had the option to change their notification ringtone. And now the day has finally arrived - the long-awaited feature is finally available on Apple smartphones.

Details

And it all started with the fact that in one of the recent updates Apple changed the familiar default Tri-tone sound, but a new one - Rebound. Users could not get used to it and began to actively criticise Apple.

So now iPhone owners can choose the sound used for all incoming notifications, except text messages, email alerts and calendar alerts, for which there were already customisation options. This feature comes in the iOS 17.2 beta 4 update.

You can change the ringtone in the new Default Alerts section, which appears in the Sounds & Haptics menu in settings.
