Disney and Lucasfilm have unveiled a new trailer for the "Ahsoka" TV series based on the Star Wars universe.

In the colourful video Star Wars fans will see not only characters familiar from the animated series "Rebels" (Star Wars Rebels), but also footage from the series, on which the main character and her allies are fighting with the Inquisitors of the Empire.

Jedi Ahsoka Tano, a former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, will be the main character in the series. She was one of the central characters in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, and also appeared in The Mandalorian. Her role will be played by Rosario Dawson.

The protagonist seeks to find Admiral Thrawn, who escaped years ago, and rescue one of her friends from captivity.

A new poster for the series, which premieres on Disney+ on 21 August, has also been unveiled.
