World box office in IMAX: Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" promises a grand spectacle and plenty of Oscar nominations

"Killers of the Flower Moon" from director Martin Scorsese in collaboration with Paramount Pictures is preparing to wow audiences with a wide theatrical release and IMAX-format release.

Here's What We Know

The epic crime drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone in the lead roles premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where it received a nine-minute standing ovation.

Based on the best-selling book of the same name by David Grann, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and tells the story of the serial murders of members of the wealthy Osage Oil Nation under mysterious circumstances that have gone down in history as the "Reign of Terror". \

Scorsese directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth, known for his work on "Dune" and "A Star is Born". The cinematographer also actively consulted and collaborated with the Osage Nation during filming. The cast also stars Robert De Niro, Brendan Fraser, Jesse Plemons, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Tantoo Cardinal, Jack White and John Lithgow.

The film is 206 minutes long, making it the second longest of Scorsese's career after The Irishman, which lasted 3 hours and 29 minutes.

Early reviews from the Cannes Film Festival called the film one of Scorsese's best works. A five-star review from Total Film describes it as "a rich, multi-layered epic story at 206 minutes", each worth its own attention. Oscar nominations seem to await DiCaprio and Gladstone, with possible nominations for Best Director and Best Film for Scorsese.
